Shared space was born from the need to authentically connect with others and rethink how we approach personal growth and recovery from life’s hurts and habits.

OPPORTUNITY
Shared Space observed how we engage with technology and one another as a society. Research has consistently demonstrated that the current state of communication on social media platforms can significantly contribute to the rising rates of depression, anxiety, and addiction not only in the United States but also worldwide.
APPROACH
Working with a start up team, we worked together to find the best solution to offer shared experiences an enable genuine connecetion with others who are looking for encouragment and support as they go through life.
Basis for research and influence
Understanding the philosophies of humanistic psychology inspired the foundation of the app experience: Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, the process of self actualization, 12-step programs and psychotherapy
Research determine a consistent theme. We as humans are hardwired for connection with people we can trust and grow best within transparent communities.

Wireframing & user flows
I created wireframe and lo-fidelity prototypes to communicate interaction and designs to our development team.
UI Kit
Delivered an initial UI kit for our development partners to maintain consistent design language across the platform for initial MVP release.
Sketches
Whiteboarding and sketching allowed me to align our cross-functional team, while thoughtfully considering the user's journey and anticipate for their needs and what they would they would see and interact with.
