OPPORTUNITY

To enable ongoing discussions with banks and partners, Network of Giving had to meet a quick go-to-market timeline and needed a well designed, fully functional version of the app. We were approached to design a mobile and desktop MVP focused on the local business and customer experience.

APPROACH

Network of Giving (NOG) had two existing app experiences; one created in 2008 and another in 2018. As a team, we immerse ourselves in both experiences, NOG's key competitors, as well as comparative experiences. We gathered this information to create user journey’s and a service map for both local businesses and customers in order to prioritize MVP features to design and prepare for development.

I led the effort to craft an in-depth journey’s for Customers and Local Businesses based on the current, ideal and future state of the product.

We were able to translate user touchpoints into stories to better understand the product needs internally and to align with our Network of Giving stakeholders.

I designed workshop cards for each Customer and Business story that outlined the phase of their journey, a way consider both business and user value, along with feasibility for our development team.

Prioritizing user stories and MVP features

We hosted a workshop with The Network of Giving to prioritize user stories that met essential business requirements for the MVP and what we believed best suites our users needs.

As a team, we successfully aligned on what stories were a must have for the initial MVP release as well as nice to have’s and future state features. This process allowed us to form a comprehensive roadmap for design and development.

We took key user stories to create hero flows and mapped them against our sitemap to further our initial app structure and approach for design.

Customer Dashboard

Taking from their existing design and what we learned from research and workshopping, we redesigned the Customer Dashboard, bringing new life to the NOG brand and emphasizing content that met the needs of Customers.

Business Dashboard

We designed the Business Dashboard to present business owners with content that would provide them the most value at a glance: a view of their offers, data and feedback from customers, and overall community impact.

A key function for Businesses is to Create Custom Offers for Customers which enables a percentage of the sales to go toward charitable organizations.

We created tech specifications in Figma for our internal development partners and thoroughly annotated the functionality and components of the design.
